Three authors selected by Igor Zidić - Milivoj Bjelić (Zagreb, 1951), Ivo Deković (Šibenik, 1952) and Željko Kipke (Čakovec, 1953) - were formed as artists in different backgrounds, and they are today without doubt mature artists whose work bears witness to both the current situation in art and their keeping in touch with past epochs, affirming at the same time a particular nomadism and an enchainment with respect to their homeland.
Motifs: Reproductions of works by three artists exhibiting at the Biennial: Milivoj Bjelić "Homodukt", 1986-1993 On the eve of the centennial of the Biennial, The Republic of Croatia will for the first time make its individual appearance at this prestigious manifestation of contemporary art in the former church of San Giovanni Nuovo, today’s Guidi Museum. They speak in a manner characteristic for the end of our century and of the millenium, but in the universal language of the time they do not lose their sense for "dialectial differences" and individual shades. The stamps were printed on joint small sheets of four stamps, as well as in individual sheets containing 20 stamps.
